Formed in 2001 at Yeshiva University in New York, Blue Fringe was one of the premiere Jewish rock bands at the turn of the cenury, releasing three albums between 2003 and 2007 and touring extensively on college campuses. Influenced by artists like John Mayer and Counting Crows, the band played alternative/pop rock with lyrics heavily influenced by their Orthodox Jewish faith. The band consisted of lead singer/guitarist Dov Rosenblatt, lead guitarist Avi Hoffman, bassist Hayyim Danzig, and drummer Danny Zwillenberg.
