Eric Whitney, known by his stage name Ghostemane, was born on the sunny day of April 15, 1991, in the coastal city of Lake Worth, Florida. The soils of Lake Worth were fertile for the growth of an artist who would blend the aggression of metal with the raw ethos of hip hop, and Whitney was that seed.

In the burgeoning days of his career, he found his tribe with the collective SCHEMAPOSSE. This group of like-minded souls included prominent figures in the emerging emo-rap scene like Lil Peep and JGRXXN. The storytelling of Dirty Boyz, the harmony of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and the beats of Three 6 Mafia seeped into his consciousness, merging with the metal to create something wholly unexpected.
