Ghostemane - Squeeze

0
Copied!

{Intro}
Yuh, ayy, ayy
Ayy, ayy, ayy (Fuck me)

{Chorus}
I fucked around and got a brand new bitch, ayy, yah, ayy
Fuck her till her legs both twitch, yah
I still wanna die, but got someone to do it with, ayy
She put my hand up on her throat and told me "Squeeze that shit", yah
I fucked around and got a brand new bitch, ayy, yah, ayy
Fuck her till her legs both twitch, yah
I still wanna die, but got someone to do it with, ayy
She put my hand up on her throat and told me "Squeeze that shit", yah

{Verse}
Looking her right in the eyes and my thumb on her tongue (And my thumb on her tongue)
Gripping her jaw like a fish outta water, I'm sprung (Fish outta water, I'm sprung)
I pushed her back to the wall and said "You're done" (Said "You're done")
She imitated a Super Soaker then I soak her and get up and go, bitch
Bitches, they come and go and
This one ain't going
'Cause I'm cuffing, like Joe Fontana
Fuck all that sentimental
Put your face in the pillow
And give me them hands
Bitch, you wanna, you wanna die but
I'm gonna take your soul

{Chorus}

Ghostemane

The meaning of the song

Biography

Eric Whitney, known by his stage name Ghostemane, was born on the sunny day of April 15, 1991, in the coastal city of Lake Worth, Florida. The soils of Lake Worth were fertile for the growth of an artist who would blend the aggression of metal with the raw ethos of hip hop, and Whitney was that seed.

In the burgeoning days of his career, he found his tribe with the collective SCHEMAPOSSE. This group of like-minded souls included prominent figures in the emerging emo-rap scene like Lil Peep and JGRXXN. Their synergy was apparent, the group pushing the boundaries and creating a space for like-minded artists. However, like any visionary, Ghostemane yearned for a landscape where his individual voice could resonate louder than in a collective choir.

His departure from SCHEMAPOSSE, as he revealed in a candid talk with No Jumper in 2017, was a conscious move towards independence. This desire for autonomous growth shone through Ghostemane's decision; he wanted to carve out his unique niche and feared the constraints that being part of a collective identity might impose on his artistic journey.

Ghostemane's musical roots are deeply embedded in the heavy soil of metal. His inspirations, he confessed to Metal Insider in a 2016 dialogue, were the relentless beats and growls of bands like Deicide, Death, Carcass, and Mayhem. These bands left an indelible mark on his music, their harshness and intensity translating into his electrifying beats.

Yet, there was another side to this coin. As much as metal gave him intensity, hip hop offered him a narrative and rhythm. The storytelling of Dirty Boyz, the harmony of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and the beats of Three 6 Mafia seeped into his consciousness, merging with the metal to create something wholly unexpected. Further compounding his influences were the bands Circle Takes the Square and The Number Twelve Looks Like You, both mentioned in his statement to Masked Gorilla in 2016 as significant influences.

Ghostemane, an artist unwilling to stagnate, wandered into the realms of side projects to sate his insatiable desire for musical exploration. 'Baader Meinhof' was his venture into lo-fi black metal, a gritty echo of his metallic roots. Meanwhile, 'GASM' was a divergence into the experimental noise genre, showcasing his versatility and unorthodox approach to music.

The life and art of Ghostemane are a testament to evolution. From his early days in SCHEMAPOSSE to his solo ventures that bridge genres, he stands as an artist who refuses to be categorized, who rebels against the constraints of traditional music labels, and who continually evolves with each beat he produces.
