ABBA, one of the greatest pop outfits in history, was formed by the talented quartet of Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. The band's unique blend of lush orchestrations and light, bouncy europop quickly captured the hearts of audiences around the world.

Their meteoric rise to fame began with their iconic Eurovision performance of the original song "Waterloo" in 1974, which led to them winning the competition in Sweden. Over the next eight years, ABBA achieved legendary success, with eight consecutive number-one albums and nine chart-topping singles in the UK alone. They also dominated the pop charts in nine other countries overseas.

Although their success in the US was more modest, ABBA still managed to have 20 songs place on the Billboard 100 during their brief 8-year tenure. Despite their immense popularity, the band rarely toured in their early years, with Andersson stating that they had only performed live a handful of times before embarking on their only international tour in 1979.

As their fame grew, personal issues began to strain the group, with two subsequent divorce proceedings affecting the dynamic within the band. Their last studio album, The Visitors, delved into darker themes with intensely personal lyricism. The group eventually disbanded the following year.

Despite their breakup, ABBA's legacy lived on through the ultra-successful Broadway musical and subsequent film Mamma Mia. In 2018, the band surprised fans with a reunion that included the release of their first new material in over 35 years, with songs like "I Still Have Faith In You" and "Don't Shut Me Down". ABBA's music continues to be celebrated and enjoyed by fans around the world.
