Anja Kotar had her first taste of the arts while studying piano, dance and acting while in Ljubljana, Slovenia. After moving to San Jose, California in 2012, Anja continued her studies at the Valley Christian Conservatory. Upon graduation, Anja attended the prestigious Broadway Artist Alliance in New York City. At 17 she then completed her widely successful $20,000 Kickstarter project.

After the release of her EP, Anja was invited to perform at the Slovenian Song Festival. After performing her original songs, Anja was nominated for Best Performance, Best Song, and Best New Artist, walking away with 2016’s Best New Artist. She then was nominated for Best Pop Song at the 2016 American Songwriting Awards.

Anja recently completed her Bachelor’s degree from Berklee College of Music nearly two years early on top of working with three-time Grammy-nominated producer Pascal Guyon for her full-length debut album NOMAD along with an online store that connects music and fashion that she released in May 2017.

After the release of NOMAD, Bitch Magazine described Anja as the “New Pop artist you should be obsessed with”. To promote her album, Anja’s performances included the infamous Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco. The video for the album’s first single was featured on VEVO and was played across all major US college radio stations. So far, the single has generated nearly 100k streams on Spotify and is continually being added to many notable playlists.

Anja has also been selected as a representative of Slovenia to sing the official anthem for Elon Musk’s project at Hyperloop Technologies.
