AJJ is an American folk punk band that was formed in 2004 in Phoenix, Arizona. Originally known as Andrew Jackson Jihad, the band was founded by core members Sean Bonnette and Ben Gallaty. From the beginning, AJJ's music has been characterized by its raw and emotional lyrics, covering topics such as mental health, poverty, and politics.

In the early years of the band, AJJ gained a following within the folk punk scene with their unique sound and powerful live performances. Their early releases, including albums like "People Who Can Eat People Are the Luckiest People in the World" and "Knife Man," showcased their talent for blending catchy melodies with thought-provoking lyrics.
