Joy Aiseosa Bakare, better known professionally as Essosa (pseudonym inspired by her middle name), is a British Alternative Pop and R&B singer, producer and songwriter.

Essosa’s musical journey began at a very young age, with her enchanting vocal performances as an infant, influenced by her mother’s involvement in their church choir. At the age of seven, she started crafting her own compositions, showcasing her passion for songwriting.

In 2018, she issued her first musical release, “The Retreat,” protesting the mistreatment of ethnic minorities and immigrants during the Brexit vote in the United Kingdom. However, it was not until 2021 that she committed herself to the pursuit of a professional career with the release of her debut EP, Dreamworld.
