There is a house of ancient stone
They say it’s a haunted place
‘Cause it’s been the grave of many a poor girl
And I heard them at night
Their cries traveled along on the gentle night breeze
It echoed off my walls
I made my way out to their half-sunken tomb
And crawled into darkness alone
Coffins of granite filled the walls
It smelled of somberness
Within the cold, a warm breath drew near
A whisper in my ear:
“Our livеs cut so short, forgotten and lost
Shame is the rеaper’s tool
A stranger’s name on our graves
Why must they chain us in place?”
Murky water oozed from the crypt’s ceiling
Like tears on stone cheeks, from eyes unseen by all
I stood in place on damp dirt floor
Soaked in our misery
Now I’m going back there everyday
Can’t undo what’s been done
Yes, I’m going back to spend my life
