DIGGING FOR GOLD
The words to consider, they flow like a river
A blissful shiver running down my spine
We’re good to each other
We treat one another like gold we discovered
I know she’s a keeper
We plough through the dirt as we dig even deeper
She understands my cards at hand
And she’ll play along whatever may come
I over-analyse myself on a photograph
It seems I’m getting old, I can see every flaw
But I’m over it now, I’m over it now
‘cause I still feel the same inside
Please do consider, the thoughts you deliver
Reflect in the mirrors hanging eye to eye
As the need grows bigger
I paint her a picture with tears in the mixture
‘cause I know she’s a keeper
We plough through the dirt as we dig even deeper
Down we go, searching for the shimmers in the glow
When digging for gold
I over-analyse myself on a photograph
It seems I’m getting old, I can see every flaw
But I’m over it now, I’m over it now
‘cause I still feel the same inside
The words to consider, they flow like a river
