Crying is a three-piece indie rock band hailing from Brooklyn, known for their unique blend of synth-driven power pop music. The band first gained attention with their debut EPs, Get Olde and Second Wind, where they showcased their innovative use of a Gameboy as a musical accompaniment, standing in for a traditional synth. This use of chiptunes set them apart from other bands in the indie rock scene.

Led by vocalist Elaiza Santos, Crying's music features a combination of synth and guitar-driven melodies, creating a sound that is both nostalgic and modern. Santos' vocals, at times barely audible, add an air of mystery to the band's music. Despite the sometimes hushed delivery, the lyrics of Crying's songs range from irreverently funny to deeply personal, showcasing the band's ability to tackle a variety of emotional themes.
