Ellis Delaney - Half-Winged AngelLookin' for space I hold on to nothin' like it's gonna save me from losing my mind And the promises I make are half-empty wishes like a full pot of water that's been boilin'
Ellis Delaney - BlackbirdI've been caught in this way of thinking What I need is a change in the air I've been breathing Drove a hundred miles an hour Down the mountainside Felt like a
Ellis Delaney - City on FireThis city is on fire Everything's burning down How did it all get started? Did we know before now? This city is on fire Who's God will be louder?
Ellis Delaney - Red LightRed light Forget all this intense Forest from trees I can't not see We are made from A grain of sand And we don't know why We're all searching
Ellis Delaney - Before You LeaveEvery drop of rain is a looking glass It's falling too fast to see I wanna do something To catch you before you leave And I know life is uncertain Things don't turn
Ellis Delaney - Oh My Dear ChildOh my dear child Don't you let them tear you down You got so much history that will carry you around Remember that blue ocean In the back of your view That big body
Ellis Delaney - Comes Back To MeI have a memory like a big fishing net When things fall out I tend to forget But there is some advantage to a memory like that I've learned to let go and I make up the rest
Ellis Delaney - Right NowI'll tell you a secret that I've learned Nobody knows everything We all get caught up in what we think and believe it's the truth But mostly we don't have the

Ellis Delaney - Right On TimeI wish for you to be free from doubt When you feel left behind or left out When the world seems brighter everywhere else And your mind is lost inside a wishing well Right on
Ellis Delaney - How Would It BeHow would it be if everything that you thought you knew Was turned upside down opposite from your point of view How would you feel if the ground was really the sky and all of this time
Ellis Delaney - Break The SpellHow many roads have I chosen? How many bags can I really put down? How many oceans must I dive into Before I drown Before I can be king of my conscience Before I wear
Ellis Delaney - You Are Royalty To MeHow do you write a song for a queen? How do you find the words or the melody? Imagine a honky-tonk hummin' a symphony Or a pedal-steel playin' a Beethoven suite Oh, how do
Ellis Delaney - TroubleTrouble hangs around like an old friend wearin' my clothes Singin' my songs Sayin' this is just how it goes Trouble hangs around A record playin' in my head
Ellis Delaney - Close To You{Verse 1} Let's pretend we’re taller than the highest part of Everest Giants with a lion's roar but lighter than a bird And we build upon our shoulders Buildings
Ellis Delaney - Without a Compass{Verse 1} You can be clever Right in front of me, you disappear Under a shadow A buried treasure, hidden somewhere I dive in to meet you I don't know where
Ellis Delaney - No More Running{Verse 1} I wanna live undefended Hearts cannot be broken, even when they fall apart But I must not really believe that 'Cause I still defend myself
Ellis Delaney - Twisted RoadsJust take it easy Just lay back here with me I got you, I got you baby Just take it easy Just close your eyes and drift off to sleep I know the world is so unkind

Ellis Delaney

Ellis Delaney
After moving from Texas to Minneapolis at age 16, Ellis got her start singing her own songs at open mics where she quickly dropped her often-mispronounced former last name (Bergeron; her new married name is Delaney). She joined a rock band in high school while also setting up her own record label to put out her first solo CD Soft Day in 1996. In college at St Olaf, she fronted the band Bobby Llama and in 1999 the band was voted Sam Goody/Musicland’s Best Unsigned Band in America. Ellis went solo and began touring full-time in 2000. Since then she has independently sold more than 40,000 copies of her eight CDs.

Ellis got her start performing the women’s festival circuit in 2000, with regular performances at the Michigan Women’s Music Festival. She also has headlined the National Women’s Music Festival in 2006 & 2008 and the Virgina Women’s Music Festival in 2009.

She has also established herself as a rising artist in the folk music community. She was voted “Most Wanted to Return” by the audience at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in 2006, and at Sisters Folk Festival in 2009, and Moab (Utah) in 2012-2014 and has since been invited to perform at several other folk festivals including the Philadelphia Folk Festival, the Festival for the Eno, the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Wildflower Festival, the Fischer Festival and the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival (2007-2016).

She has also received several songwriting awards and honors, including Top Five awards at the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriting Contest, the Telluride Troubadour Contest, and the Kerrville Music To Life Songwriting Contest. She also won the award for best Female Singer/Songwriter Album in the International Just Plain Folks 2009 Music Awards. Most recently, she won the Mountain Stage NewSong Midwest Regional Round and the Kerrville Grassy Hill New Folk Contest.

In 2009, Ellis released a retrospective DVD entitled “Scrapbook” that includes a look back at the first 12 years of her career, as well as a live concert and an MP3 CD with the songs from her first five albums, including the first Bobby Llama CD.

In 2010, Ellis completed her critically acclaimed seventh full-length recording, Right On Time.

In 2013 she released a 3-disc live CD set Wherever You Are.

In 2016, she released her most ambitious studio recording to date, The Guest House.
