Altars is a metalcore band hailing from Colorado Springs, Colorado, known for their powerful music and thought-provoking lyrics. The band was formed in 2010 and is made up of Canaan Smith on vocals, Seth Munson and Brock Williams on guitar, Mike Searle on bass, and Ben Reno on drums.

Since their inception, Altars has released three EPs and two full-length albums. Their first release, "Opposition," came out on July 19, 2011, through Strike First Records. This was followed by their debut full-length album, "Conclusions," which was released on June 5, 2012, under Facedown Records. They also released an accompanying EP called "Revelation," which featured acoustic/pop punk-esque renditions of songs from "Conclusions." Their latest full-length album, "Something More," was released on May 14, 2013, and their EP "A Profound Respect for Life" was self-released on January 6, 2015.

Altars uses their platform as a Christian band to criticize organized religion and the corruption within the church. Their music often focuses on fighting for a better world, seeing the good in mankind, and appreciating the beauty of the planet. They encourage their listeners to make a positive impact and strive to make life easier and more pleasant for everyone.
