Founded in 1973, Sweet Honey In The Rock® is an all African-American woman a cappella performance ensemble, a three-time Grammy Award–nominated troupe who express African American and African diasporic history and culture through song, dance, and sign language. The ensemble educates, politically entertains and empowers its audience and community through the dynamic live performance and American Sign Language interpretation for the Deaf and hard of hearing. They are embraced by people of all ages, economic/education/social backgrounds, political persuasions, religious affiliations, sexual preferences and differing abilities.
