Sylar
Sylar is a rock band formed in Queens, New York City, New York in 2011 after vocalist Jayden Panesso and former drummer Thomas Veroutis connected on social media. The band took their name from NBC’s Heroes villain of the same name.

Sylar released their debut EP Cutting the Ties in 2011 shortly after their formation.

The band was signed to Razor & Tie records in 2013 and released their second EP Deadbeat later that year with Caleb Shomo (of Beartooth) who helped with production. Shomo also assisted with production on the band’s 2014 debut album To Whom It May Concern.

In 2016 Sylar released their first album under Hopeless Records titled Help! which peaked at #31 on Billboard’s ‘Top Rock Albums’ and #11 on the ‘Hard Rock Albums’.

They released their third album Seasons in 2018 which peaked at #18 on Billboard’s ‘Alternative Album Sales’, #8 on the ‘Heatseekers Albums’ and #31 on the ‘Independent Albums’.

Sylar told Dead Press! about their biggest musical influences. A few being Bring Me the Horizon’s Sempiternal, Deftones‘ self-titled album, and Slipknot’s Iowa.
