Oates met Daryl Hall while attending Temple University in the late 1960s, and the two quickly formed a musical partnership that would lead to immense success in the music industry. Hall & Oates released their debut album, "Whole Oats," in 1972, and went on to achieve massive commercial success throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
