Daring eyes, the door, don’t it seem
That it’s time to dually dispell yourself from me?
Seem desperation’s very own get out of jail free
Send your stowaways to me
I’ll get them back on their feet
Fold up their crayon drawings and lean on a banister
And watch them leave

I feel distance in our waters
A river splitting through our land
I feed it’s fish that simply aren’t there
As they migrate ‘cause they can
Every person has a purpose
Personal universes
Put my poems in your shoebox
From my words you will divorcе them

Of the moments that thеy lust upon
Your face in every space
From the quiet meadow walks we went
Even then began the race to escape your checkpoint
Gain dominion over your opinions
When asked of your’s of me
You’ll ask to that “who’s he”?

Hold up stone etchings of fabled manticores
And roll down your sleeves
The world wounds you in the same way that the world wounds me
But you run to other courses as you bleed
I dwell my own thing on the bleachers and bleed...

The way a circle never stops
And a glowing vortex forms
In your car we sat in park
Making memories we’ll mourn
Immortality’s a curse
Too much of anything can hurt
Our love with her just seems irrational
Yet with our ideas we flirt

{Verse 6}
Of knocking on her door
Taking her down to the beach
Collecting seaglass as I pant
While my eyes absorb the sea
We survived the same war
Condemn it as we sign the draft
Between us we kept such score
Sought sore for something back
Nothing back

We survived the same shot
