Biography
Devin Star Tailes, better known by her stage name Dev, was born on July 2, 1989 in Tracy, California. She began her music career after being discovered by record label Indie-Pop and The Cataracs through her friend posting a video of her singing on Myspace.
Dev gained widespread recognition when her song "Booty Bounce" was sampled in Far East Movement's hit single "Like a G6", which topped the charts and sold over four million downloads in the US. In October 2010, she signed with Universal Republic and released her debut single "Bass Down Low", which achieved success in the United Kingdom.
Her debut album, "The Night the Sun Came Up", was released in 2012 and featured the hit single "In the Dark", which peaked at number 11 on the US chart. In 2014, Dev released two EPs, "Bittersweet July" and its follow-up, showcasing her versatility as an artist.
