I Declare War is an American deathcore band hailing from Seattle, Washington. Formed in 2005, the original lineup consisted of Johnathan Huber on vocals, Evan Hughes and Jake Paulson on guitars, Randy Carpenter on drums, and Zack Ring on bass. The band released their first album, "What You Deserve," independently in 2006 and began touring soon after. In 2007, they released their second album, "Amidst the Bloodshed," on Compton Records.

In 2009, the band underwent a major lineup change with Chris Fugate, Ryan Cox, and Brent Eaton joining the band. This left Huber and Hughes as the only original members. The band was signed by Artery Recordings in the same year. In 2010, they released their third album, "Malevolence," which was the last to feature Huber as vocalist. Huber left the band to join Pathology, and Jamie Hanks was brought in as his replacement.

Hanks made his recorded debut with the band on their self-titled fourth album in 2011. The lineup underwent another change in 2012, with every member except Hanks departing. The band recruited a new lineup consisting of John Winters on guitar, Colin Bradford on drums, Gordon McPherson on bass, and Hanks on vocals. They later added Jacob Hansen as a second guitarist. However, due to heavy touring commitments, Hansen and Bradford eventually left and were replaced by Yusef Johnson.

In 2014, this new lineup released their fifth full-length album, "We Are Violent People by Nature," which reached #13 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. Despite numerous lineup changes over the years, I Declare War has continued to make their mark on the deathcore scene with their aggressive sound and intense live performances.
