The Class were a highly popular alternative rock band. After the death of their lead singer, Jordan Cross, at the Himmapan Hotel in Thailand, the band disbanded and each of the remaining members went their separate ways.

The Class originally started out as a collaboration between lead singer Jordan Cross and guitarist Heidi Santoro. The pair met in London, where they both studied at the prestigious St. Claremont’s School of Art. Cross and Santoro were joined by Scottish drummer Quentin Moriarty who’d been a part of the Dundee punk rock band Defilers of Kilt.

Together, the trio travelled to Cross’ native New York, primarily playing in clubs before releasing their first EP, "Soft Currency," through long-time publisher, Monumental Records. Cross’ soulful singing combined with Santoro’s signature riffs hit a nerve with the millennial crowd.

But success came at a cost, and tragedy struck one night as Cross’ long-time sweetheart, Hannah Highmoore fell to her death after being pushed off a balcony by Cross. Destroyed with grief, Cross withdrew from public eye for at time, while his father Thomas Cross maniplated the investigation and story to make it seem as if she died in an accident while drunk. After seeking help by his physician Oscar Lafayette, Jordan eventually emerged stronger and with great creative force.

In 2019, The Class were working on their second album, Providence, having already recorded three new songs at the Himmapan luxury hotel resort on the Chao Phraya river in Thailand. Quentin Moriarty, the Scottish drummer, left over a disagreement, and was soon to be replaced by popular New York Indie scene drummer, Abel de Silva. Then, on his 27th birthday, both Jordan Cross and his lawyer died in "an accident". After Cross' death, the band disbanded and each of the remaining members went their own ways.

After Cross's death, the band published the three tracks recorded by him before he died. "Are We Stars", "Shine a Light" and "Gun Show" were published in 2020 in the album Providence.

By 2021, The Class still retained a following in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
