People looking at me like I got a problem
Like autumn
I'm a tree that loses leaves to grow up taller and unbothered

I will explain 'leaves' are people I should let go of
Last night I had a dream of a hospital
Where doctors spoke of my own demise
Seeing my soul leave my body was so odd
I just wanted to know what got me here
Was it a close call?
An overdose, a car accident or maybe withdrawals?
I overheard a nurse talk from the hall

I was always a poor judge of people
I let them in though to the darkest corners of my life
Hoping they'd light a dim hole
Of course they never did
They just made the pain worse
I'm a victim of depression and fake love so I'll stay hurt
