Forgotten Tomb are an Italian black doom metal group, formed in Piacenza in 1999 at the behest of the leader Ferdinando “Herr Morbid” Marchisio. The band is known to be among the pioneers of depressive/suicidal black metal, from which the band will later depart partially, including other influences (mainly from the Dark-Wave of the eighties, but also from Rock). The lyrics of the first albums deal mainly with depression and suicide, while later they focus on negativity and nihilism in general.
