Eli Waltz - Land of Marshes

0
Copied!

{Verse 1}
Land of marshes, fields of green
Fields of blue, skies serene
Down by the bridges, up in the trees
Born to breathe the salty air

{Chorus}
Meadow views and gold sunsets
Scarlet billows, red rosebeds
The fire melts, the soldier's dead

{Verse 2}
Gales, they hold oh-so-swift
Happily, his sail did lift
Freed him from his earthly bonds
And marshy ponds kept him out of trouble

{Chorus}
Meadow views and gold sunsets
Scarlet billows, red rosebeds
The fire melts, thе soldier's dead

{Instrumental Break}

{Verse 3}
Land of marshes, fiеlds of green
Fields of blue, skies serene
Down by the bridges, up in the trees
Born to breathe the salty air

{Chorus}
Meadow views and gold sunsets
Scarlet billows, red rosebeds
The fire melts, the soldier's dead

{Outro}
Whoa
Meadow views and gold sunsets
Scarlet billows, red rosebeds
The fire melts, the soldier's dead

Biography

Eli Waltz is a world traveler and folk-rock musician who focuses the sum of his experiences on the road into a soulful, singular sound. His music is eclectic, drawing from the musical traditions of American Blues, “rock ‘n’ roll”, Chinese Guqin and European Baroque music; his lyrics draw upon the poetic traditions of the Beat Generation.
He is heralded for his whimsical, philosophical lyricism, unconventional chord progressions and gut-punching harmonica solos. He weaves in traditional Chinese music–inspired by months and years living in Beijing and Yunnan as a working musician–and classical music to create his signature folk rock sound.

His sound has many influences, earning him comparisons to musicians ranging from Ray Lamontagne to Pink Floyd to Shakey Graves to Gregory Alan Isakov. He aims to build upon and honor the legacies of his all-time favorites: Townes Van Zandt, John Lee Hooker, John Fahey, Beethoven and Guan Pinghu.
Waltz has shared the stage with nationally-recognized artists including Willie Carlise and Andrew Combs, and his music has received praise from Sir Paul McCartney among other musical heroes.

He is part of a new wave of up-and-coming American Blues and Folk artists residing in Washington, D.C., home of historic folk label Takoma Records, Skip James and many artists from whom he draws inspiration in his songwriting and performances.
