Nine Seven Pta - ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK

0
Copied!

{Intro}
Over
Come over
Come on
Come over
Can I come over
Come over
Come over

{Verse 1}
I tried to be the one for you
Attempt just proved that life
Had other plans for where we stood
I swear you’re all that’s right
And God, I’m sending desperate
I know you hear my cries
And all looks well from distances
There’s more than meets the eye
Still outside, babe
Trudging through the snow, it’s bout like 1 AM
Zoning, going through my phone, got a placement
Pack burning in my hand, it cost a day spent
Face wet up in the spot, did a rain dance
That Juvie playing, then I hit her with the ached back
Smile looking right behind her, a tame glance
We took our time, it’s like we’re testing on our patience
Relapsed in the bathroom, I blame them

{Chorus}
Oh god
I was doing better, I deplete
Why this always get me through the week, baby
I run the footage, I’m going through the scenes
I think there’s something more right here for me, baby (but I can’t go)
Can’t go running right back
It’s a tango
It’s a shameful last dance on a payroll
But if you ever want out, you can say no
Gates open, it’ll never stay closed

{Verse 2}
I know my ways, I got a habit, can’t afford it (let’s get it)
The paradox of life, what makes it gorgeous
So can you show me what escaping from New York is
I did my best, but I’m still stuck in this discoursing
I got my eyes wide, I’m barely even focused
Because my frame of mind, really it’s just horse shit
There’s so much grief inside my veins, I feel it coursing
It’s not important, no

{Chorus}
Jesus
I was doing better, I deplete
Why this always get me through the week, baby
I run the footage, I’m going through the scenes
I think there’s something more right here for me, baby (but I can’t go)
Can’t go running right back
It’s a tango
It’s a shameful last dance on a payroll
But if you ever want out, you can say no
Gates open, it’ll never stay closed

{Outro}
Don’t leave me
Be with me
Are we dreaming
The nothingness
There’s something you’re not seeing
Don’t go

Biography

Blending the nuances of contemporary hip hop and popular music with sprinkles of indie influence, introspection, psychedelia, contemplation, and catharsis, Nine Seven Pta is the solo effort of Westchester, New York native of Justin Ciuzio, rapper, singer / songwriter and producer.

The alias “Nine Seven Pta” alludes to director Paul Thomas Anderson, a filmmaker Justin has looked up to since he first found his film “Boogie Nights”. Distracting himself from an immense state of depression feeling like there was no reason for his existence, he watched intricately at the utilization of style, cinematography, soundtrack, editing, and everything. The film made him realize that life would be worth living granted he was able to craft his vision, much alike Paul Thomas Anderson did in 1997. Justin claims that if his alias didn’t allude to such a monumental moment in his life, that none of this would feel right.

Nine Seven Pta is the accumulation of the sounds Justin grew up with, and how he channels them into a distinct sound that he hopes comes off as “one of a kind”. The sound of Nine Seven Pta is eclectic, yet cohesive. Whether he brings the listener through an omniscient self analysis of his state of being (channeling major influences such as Kid Cudi, Kanye West, and Frank Ocean while doing so), compares the notion of unrequited love to a flower no longer able to see the sun deterring it’s ability to blossom in melodies reminiscent of contemporary indie rock, or boasts wordplay and similes over soul samples, each track signifies that you have just entered into the mind of Justin.

The music of Nine Seven Pta conveys a sort of intimacy between the listener and the songwriter; with each song you listen to, you become more and more familiar with the person he is. And hopefully within those moments, you find yourself locked into Nine Seven Pta’s world.
