ApologetiX - Clothing Time

0
Copied!

{Verse 1}
Clothing time
Opened up the garden and sent you out into the world
Clothing time
Turned down God's advice, turned over every boy and every girl
Clothing time
One man's fall will bounce us all, 'cause sin is a risky affair
Clothing time
You both have your clothes on, but you can't stay there

{Chorus 1}
I know you don't want the naked truth
I know you don't want the naked truth
I know you don't want the naked truth -- naked truth

{Verse 2}
Clothing time
Time for you to go out in disgrace to the filthy slums
Clothing time
Eden won't be open till your promised Lord and Savior comes
So grab your lеather jackets – you've lost futurе access
But hope will be found again
Clothing time
Yes, while you are sinning someone's coming to make sinning end – Yeah!

{Chorus 2}
I know Who will come to take me home
I know Who will come to take me home
I know Who will come to take me home
Take me home

{Verse 3}
Clothing time
Time for us to go, First Corinthians 15 verse 51

{Chorus 3}
I know Who will come to take me home
I know Who will come to take me home
I know Who will come to take me home
Take me home

{Outro}
Clothing time
Yes, while you are sinning someone's coming who'll make sinning end

The meaning of the song

"Clothing Time" by ApologetiX is a humorous and clever take on the biblical story of Adam and Eve and the concept of clothing as a symbol of sin and redemption. The catchy chorus emphasizes the idea of facing the truth and looking forward to the promise of redemption through Jesus Christ. Overall, "Clothing Time" is a fun and thought-provoking song that blends humor with deep theological themes.

Biography

ApologetiX (That Christian Parody Band), located in Pittsburgh, PA, was founded in 1992. In the song “We’re in a Parody Band”, ApologetiX refers to itself as a cross between “Weird Al” Yankovic and Billy Graham.

ApologetiX rewrites secular songs with Christian lyrics. They get their unusual name from the word “apologetics”, which means “the defense of the Christian faith.” It is based on the Greek word for defense, “apologia”. The word is used in 1 Peter 3:15, “But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer (defense or "apologia”) to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect…“ (NIV). Their logo, a triquetra, is an ancient symbol of the Holy Trinity.
