Geboren op 09 september 1998 te Mortsel (Belgie) onder de naam: Iliass Mansouri. Daarna groeide hij op in Zurenborg. De muziek is hem met de paplepel ingegoten en hij raakte al op jonge leeftijd geïnspireerd door verschillende genres en rapte en zong mee met de teksten van zijn idolen. Dystinct richtte zich in eerste instantie op voetballen, zoals velen van zijn leeftijd in zijn omgeving toen. Maar op 15 jarige leeftijd ambieerde hij het zingen steeds meer en lanceerde een cover van Trey Songs (Foreign)online. Na heel veel positieve reacties besloot hij er nog een aantal covers op te nemen en online te “gooien”. Engelstalige nummers… daarmee zou hij (aanvankelijk) het “grotere publiek” moeten bereiken. Na een aantal engelstalige tracks, raadde er op een dag iemand hem aan Nederlandstalige nummers te gaan schrijven. Hiervoor reiste hij veel af naar Amsterdam en evolueerde in rap tempo onder diens begeleiding.

Dystinct ontpopte zich tot singer/songwriter en producer, waardoor hij op 24 april 2017 zijn eerste Nederlandstalige track genaamd: “No ring ring” heeft weten te releasen. Ook qua muziekstijlen wist hij de juiste combinatie te vinden voor zichzelf. Door de aanhoudende internationale insteek gebruikt hij invloeden van verschillende genres om het grotere publiek te bereiken met zijn muziek. Vanwege zijn afkomst gebruikt hij daarom ook veel Arabische invloeden in zijn muziek. Dystinct blijft zich dagelijks, autodidactisch, verder ontwikkelen als schrijver en componist. De naam Dystinct zegt het al: “onderscheidend van de rest”… en dat is precies wat hij wilt blijven doen met zijn muziek.
