Astroqueen plays really heavy fuzz music, influenced by bands such as Fu Manchu, Iron Maiden, (Early) Metallica, Kyuss, Black Sabbath, and High On Fire.

In December 1999, Astroqueen was signed to Pavement Music. Their first LP was produced by King Diamond guitarist Andy LaRouque and was released in the summer of 2001.

The band is currently on hiatus.
