Radiator Hospital - Human

0
Copied!

{Verse 1}
Wanted you to see me as human
But you saw me as an instrument you played
Just a way to move a unit
Just a way for you to make sure you get paid
Well, I can exploit myself
I can ignore what I know best

{Chorus}
You said that you saw me as human
Well I wanted you to prove it

{Verse 2}
There was a time when I was eager
To let anyone walk all over me
Now I'm older and I'm weaker;
I'm learning how to show my snarling teeth
Maybe I hate myself
Maybe I'm trying hard to stop

{Chorus}
You said that you saw me as human
Well I still need you to prove it

Radiator Hospital

Song Description

"Human" by Radiator Hospital is a raw and honest exploration of feeling dehumanized and used. The lyrics express the desire to be seen and treated as a human being, rather than just a means to an end. The singer reflects on past experiences of being taken advantage of and mistreated, but also shows growth and resilience in learning to stand up for themselves. The chorus repeatedly calls for proof of being seen as human, highlighting the importance of validation and respect in relationships. The song captures the struggle of finding self-worth and asserting boundaries in a world that can be harsh and unforgiving.

Biography

Radiator Hospital is an American pop-punk band hailing from Grand Rapids, Michigan, now based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The band was originally a solo project of Sam Cook-Parrott, who used it as a platform for his lo-fi pop songs recorded on a four-track tape recorder. As the project grew, Cook-Parrott enlisted the help of Cynthia Schemmer on guitar and vocals, Jeff Bolt on drums, and Jon Rybicki on bass, transforming Radiator Hospital into a four-piece band.

The name "Radiator Hospital" was inspired by an auto body shop near Cook-Parrott's hometown in Michigan. He found the sign intriguing and thought the name had a unique and interesting ring to it, which ultimately led to the band adopting it as their own.

Radiator Hospital has become known for their catchy pop melodies, heartfelt lyrics, and energetic live performances. They have gained a following within the DIY music scene in Philadelphia and beyond, with their music resonating with fans of indie rock and punk alike.

Despite their humble beginnings as a solo project, Radiator Hospital has evolved into a full-fledged band with a distinct sound and style. They continue to captivate audiences with their heartfelt and infectious music, solidifying their place in the indie music scene.
