otuka is one of the alternate accounts for the artist Jades.
otuka was created as a way to release scrapped songs or songs that Jades didn’t think were good enough for his main account, Jades. otuka’s career would have a slow beginning, releasing a song on SoundCloud now and then, beginning with songs like “wow,” “one,” and “2 minutes of anything & everything.” Beginning with “potent” otuka would begin distributing his songs to streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music and more.
Following the release of “never enough” and his continuous promotion of it on TikTok, otuka’s career would rapidly take off, quickly becoming more popular than his main account, Jades.
Throughout his career, otuka would release short, two-minute compilations of snippets as a way to show off songs that he’s been working on. These songs would later be compiled into an album, 2 minutes of anything & everything.
During the end of 2023, otuka would start hinting at his first EP. Finally, on January 18, 2024, Jades would take to Twitter to announce his debut EP, year of the cat. On January 26, 2024, year of the cat would be released as otuka’s first multi-song project, featuring five tracks total.
