Die Ärzte sind eine deutschsprachige Punkrock-Band aus Berlin. Sich selbst beschreiben sie ironischerweise als „Die Beste Band der Welt“.

Gegründet wurde sie erstmals im Jahr 1982 von Farin Urlaub, Bela B. sowie Sahnie. 1986 verließ Sahnie aufgrund von persönlichen Differenzen die Band und als Live-Bassist stieß Hagen Liebling dazu. 1987 zeichnete sich ein finanzielles Desaster ab, so dass in der Band erstmals über eine Auflösung nachgedacht wurde, 1988 kam es dann dazu. Farin und Bela versuchten sich mit anderen Bands, doch der Erfolg blieb aus. Jedoch verkauften sich die Platten der Ärzte nach deren Trennung besser als je zuvor. 1993 beschlossen Farin Urlaub und Bela B zusammen mit dem Gitarristen Rodrigo González die Neugründung der Band. Mit dem Album „Die Bestie in Menschengestalt“ gelang ihnen im selben Jahr die Rückkehr der Ärzte.

In den Jahren 1984 bis 2013 veröffentlichten sie dreizehn Studioalben, sechs Live-Alben, sowie sieben Kompilationen. Viele Singles erreichten Spitzenpositionen, so z.B. „Unrockbar“, „Junge“ oder auch „Schrei nach Liebe“. Außerdem erhielten sie mit Ton- und Bildträgern zahlreiche Gold- und Platinschallplatten.
