I never fixed the lamp
It was broken when I bought it
It gathered dust on my kitchen floor
It was a beauty but
It never shone a light
It just stood there
Waiting

I never cleaned my windows
They were spotty from the rain
From the wind
From the doves
From the drain
And from the pain this house has seen
I sit with its ghosts
Every day
In silence

How can I ever repay you
For that friday night
I texted you and asked for a hug
You came to my door
No questions asked at all
And you held mе
Until the sun
Rose somehow
I nеver stood a chance
To the questions in my mind
Used to think that i could find the answers
If I ran fast enough
But I gave up
I caved in
Sat down to rest
To catch my breath

See those dirty windows
On the wall
One day
I will clean them all
