Born Rakim Mayers in Harlem, New York, A$AP Rocky is a rapper, songwriter, and record producer known for his melodic rap style and impeccable fashion sense. He took on the stage name A$AP Rocky, paying homage to his Harlem roots and the A$AP Mob, a collective he joined in 2007.
Rocky gained fame in 2011 with the release of his debut mixtape, LIVE.LOVE.A$AP, which featured popular tracks like “Peso” and “Purple Swag.” This success led to a record deal with RCA Records and the release of his debut studio album, Long.
