Jack Barksdale - Dreamer

I hit my head on the happenstance of second chance
It's a strange dance, but i didn't give it a second glance
Not sure where my mind's been these past few years
Been caught up in these little fears
That won't stop ringing through my ears
My motives are questionable
But i don't quite understand
How i need to change
Just trying to do what i can with what i have
I like to think i'll figure it out one of these days
But time will tell my worthless fate
I've probably lived a little longer than i should have
But i can't get mad about it another story gone bad
Misunderstandings, they just keep expanding
It's so demanding, there's no soft landings
All these pressures are objectionable
I know they mean well, i know they do
My intentions always seem to backfire
Expectations must be getting higher
Words never ring true
They never have, i never knew

I know i may never find the right path
But i can't help myself anyway
I can always find a flaw in this heart of mine
It's like torture sometimes
Day after day, after day, after day, after day

My philosophy could be patched up cleaner
I'm lost in the ether
I don't want to be here
My vision, my vision is cloudy
I'm getting weaker
The grass isn't greener
The mountain gets steeper and steeper
And they say i'm a dreamer
