Geto Boys - The Answer To Baby

0
Copied!

{intro: scarface, ashanti}
I don't really remember feeling like this
(geto boys greatest hits, bonus track)
It almost made me a millionaire
Love
(baby, i love you)
Love
(baby, i love you)

{verse 1: scarface, ashanti}
Ain't a great day in the morning no more, it's something about you
And every now and then i can't help but to think about you (baby)
I'm hating that we ended like this but i had to leave you
I knew that i would miss you one day and i'd need you
(baby, i love you)
More now than i ever did and i'm heartbroken
Staring at my eyelids shut, wide open (baby)
And a love coming in my lifе for another lady
And neglecting you for somе other bitch was just plain crazy
(baby, i love you)

{chorus: ashanti, scarface}
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby (baby, i love you) (love)
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby
(happy just to hear your name, do your thing) (baby, i love you)
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby (baby, i love you) (love)
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby
(happy just to hear your name, do your thing) (baby, i love you)

{verse 2: scarface, ashanti}
Had me believing she was all i ever needed
Sticky brown, body like oil, hella heated (baby)
Remember seeing candlesticks lit, the smell of incense
Intimate encounter on the bed so sick (baby, i love you)
And a nigga so lit, i had to call her up the same night
(man, there's something about this bitch that just ain't right) (baby)
I wouldn't let my friends get her
Taking penitentiary chances just to be with her (baby, i love you)
Then d hit her
G hit her, sprung on the lebanon blonde
Once she get you locked in her clutches, you can't run (baby)
In the dark, hearing footsteps and you can't sleep
You find yourself so in love this bitch that you can't eat
(baby, i love you)
Paranoia, that's a feeling so scary
This bitch that almost made me leave mary (baby)

{chorus: ashanti, scarface}
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby
(happy just to hear your name) got me saying
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby (baby, i love you) (love)
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby
(happy just to hear your name) yeah

{verse 3: scarface, ashanti}
Mary, i've been homesick, i gotta see you
And when i finally hit you this time, i'll never leave you
Took your love for granted, i was blind
And i'm hoping you can accept my apology for this one last time
(i love you)
You can tell that i ain't happy, 'cause i can't control it
This hashish, it's mary i love, just like i told her (baby)
Insisted that i write you this letter for this reason
See if you'll be down for a threesome (baby, i love you)

{chorus: ashanti, scarface}
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby (baby, i love you) (love)
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby
I love it when i hear your name, got me saying
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby (ooh-oh-oh) (baby, i love you) (love)
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby
(happy just to hear your name, do your thing)

{post-chorus: ashanti, scarface}
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby (love)
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby (love)
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby

{outro: ashanti}
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby

Geto Boys

The meaning of the song

Biography

Geto Boys is a rap group hailing from Houston, Texas, best known as the flagship artists on Rap-A-Lot Records with the classic lineup of Scarface, Willie D, and Bushwick Bill. The group caused controversy over their gangsta rap content but they are credited with being pioneers in putting Southern rap on the hip-hop map.

The initial group consisted of Bushwick Bill, DJ Ready Red, Prince Johnny C, and Sire Jukebox, who were featured on their 1988 debut album Making Trouble. Following the album’s lack of success, Rap-A-Lot CEO J. Prince replaced Prince Johnny C and Sire Jukebox with Willie D and Scarface (who went by “Akshen” at the time). This lineup was in place for the group’s second album Grip It! On That Other Level, which received critical acclaim, including a spot on The Source’s Top 100 Rap Albums of All Time list. Their breakthrough third album, We Can’t Be Stopped, was released in 1991 and featured their biggest single, “Mind Playing Tricks On Me.”

After that album, the three members released solo projects and Willie D was replaced by Big Mike for the group’s fourth album, Till Death Do Us Part. Scarface, Willie D, and Bushwick Bill reunited in 1996 for The Resurrection, but Bushwick wasn’t involved in the group’s 1998 release, Da Good, Da Bad & Da Ugly—however, he came back to complete the trio for the group’s next album, 2005’s The Foundation.

Despite conflicting reports earlier in the day, Bushwick Bill passed away on the evening of June 9, 2019 at the age of 52 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
