Mucci Gane, also known as “Legba” in homage of the Haitian Voodou figure, incorporates a humanizing sense of sillyness in his egotistical style that manages to not get too carried away. Born in Seattle, Washington, Mucci grew up alternating between Compton, California and the 3rd Ward in Texas.

With his first unofficial project release, the extended play entitled SpaceCowboy: Texacali to Mars, Mucci introduces his presence to the contemporary pool of peers advocating codeine syrup while he longs for “space lean”, an alternate nickname for Electric Kool-Aid. Abrupt, witty punchlines and reverberated harmonic instances studding the backdrops compensate for the lack of refinement in the muddy soundscape he briefly explores. Gane compromises expressed vulnerability in “PURPLEDREAM” with humorous bravado, and things like shooting his shot at Sudanese-Australian model Duckie Thot in “SPACEDANDY”. Immediately following this, he shows more of his indifference to nuisances, as he proudly chimes in a screwed voice “It don’t matter though. I don’t give a fuck. I’ll be getting money tomorrow” over the bridge in “OASIS”. His “whatever” attitude is his driving force behind mixy, albeit not bad, production.

Mucci’s linear speaking tone illustrates his underlying dissatisfaction with his current life, further adding to why drugs are so commonly mentioned. This monotonous voice gets a pitched down boost making it sound inhuman yet powerful in filling more space when screwed. His 6-song tracklist is driven by hedonism, Houston slab culture and his consistent travels since childhood, as well the natives & VAGABONDS collective he’s a part of.

In the summer of 2021, he and frequent collaborator Kaine Carter released an EP together entitled Paradise Island.
