Born on June 24, 1978, in Los Angeles, California, Ariel Marcus Rosenberg, known by his stage name Ariel Pink, is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer.

As a teenager, Ariel began his musical journey by recording tracks on an eight-track Portastudio. In 1999, he self-released his debut album, Underground. The following year, he released The Doldrums and sold it at CalArts, where he was studying fine arts. However, he later dropped out and lived in a Hindu ashram, where he recorded five albums between 2001 and 2003.

Until the release of pom pom in 2014, all of Ariel's albums were credited to his solo project, Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti. He explained that he chose to do this because people often mistook his name to be Ariel Pink, when it is actually Ariel Rosenberg. He clarified, "There’s no Ariel Pink, there’s no Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, that was my project, not like a persona. My name’s Ariel Rosenberg and I have a solo project that I called Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti."

Throughout his career, Ariel Pink has collaborated with various artists such as lo-fi legend R. Stevie Moore, Dâm-Funk, Miley Cyrus, and Charli XCX, among others. His album pom pom has been his most successful to date, peaking at 150 on Billboard’s 200 chart.

Ariel Pink's unique blend of lo-fi aesthetics, experimental pop, and psychedelic rock has earned him a dedicated fan base and critical acclaim in the music industry. With his unconventional approach to music-making and boundary-pushing creativity, he continues to captivate audiences worldwide with his distinctive sound.
