Nate Rose - Phew

0
Copied!

{verse 1}
I’m the man, i got plans
5th of bourbon in my hand, that’ll make you change your stance
I’m like..
In advance, and i rarely ever chance
Rather mitigate the risk
Keep my eye up on them bands
I’m like..
I’m just saying, in the land
Guess i’m back in high demand
And my car ain’t from japan
But i drive it like i ran (from the cops)
I’m like damn
Seen you tweaking on the gram
I can never understand
How you claim to be a man (cuz you not)
Psssh, yeah you less able
Get these squares stretched out, that’s a rectangle
Tell that girl to wipe me down, like a wet table
Then come and get your ass beat, that’s a vegetable
Rest in peace, i’m deceased
That’s my car it’s not a lease
That’s givenchy not a crease
Firmly grounded like some cleats
Heard you homie sent a link
Listened to it shit is weak
You should trash and hit delete

{chorus}
If it ain’t about the bottom line it’s not important
I don’t entertain a buy if i can not afford it
I don’t like the 808 if it is not distorted
And i really wish you would but this is not a forest
So i’m back in my bag, once again
And you back on my back, once again
What’s new?
Michael jack, hit my dance
Then i slide, like the roof
Of my whip, it go phew

{verse 2}
Stock going up
That’s for sure, halleluj
It’s a blessing, lil bitch, how are you?
Show the numbers to my haters from the past
How’d i do?
The kind of growth that you been seeing from me, nothing new
Saw your civic that you bought right off the lot
Shit is cute, yeah
I guess we have different definitions of a coupe, yeah
You were awfully confident back in them high school days
Aye lil buddy, what happened to you?
How’s that 9-5 working, for you?
How’s that drive working for you?
Never stopped working now
I’m in the drive doing donuts
In a ride you can’t afford
And living life, never gave up on the grind
Fell a lot but never died, and my top go phew

{chorus}

{verse 3}
Yeah my roof go off
And my three piece tailored so my suit go off
Smell like hugo boss, i cannot do no wrong
Yeah we can dead that now
You came up but it was short, that’s a dead cat bounce
I got next, hard work done got me blessed
I got texts, from some people that i know you’ve never met
That’s a flex, used to roll on decks
Now all i do is check my rolodex
I got contacts, so you could say my vision got correct
I’m like, woo woo woo woo woo
Tell her i just do it my whole life a nike swoosh
You might see me chill, but that’s once in a blue moon
I love the grind, can’t comply till i’m u2
Back when i was young and throwing clips up on my youtube
Used to dream about the day when i’d be in a new coupe
Now i’m in an audi doing numbers off of rap shit
My top go phew as i maneuver through the traffic
Yeah bitch!

Nate Rose

The meaning of the song

Biography

Nate Rose is a hip-hop artist & creative often referred to as the “James Bond” of rap for his debonair demeanor and emphasis on intellect. Exploring relationships, business, and politics, Rose touches on topics with a fresh perspective backed by tasteful instrumentals and eloquent delivery.
Rose participates in every level of artistry, having developed skills out of necessity for a thriving career. The Nashville native handles all the production, graphic design, and video production for his projects, which collectively encompass his artistic vision, actively maintaining creative control over each stage of his work.

“This white boy is f*** #DOPE!!” says Houston based hip-hop blog, Diamondz-n-Wood. “From the artwork to the production to the lyrical content and delivery… I was supa impressed. I see him doing some big s in the FUTURE.”

With more than 1 million combined streams across listening platforms with no label backing or external investment, Rose has built an organic fan base through intricate lyricism, decadent melodies, and a strong desire and drive to be one of the greats. He has sold more than 1,500 physical copies of his debut Polymath EP, setting a precedent for his newly released CrossFire EP, which features Bay Area newcomer Rexx Life Raj. In addition to a successful physical campaign, Nate Rose has a strong social media presence totalling 26,000 combined followers across major platforms.

HipHopDX says, “[Nate Rose] is definitely an artist worth follow…on and off Twitter.”

An explosive live performance landed Nate Rose on several grandiose stages, including Eaglepalooza alongside multi-platinum artist Keri Hilson at the University of Southern Mississippi, Import Alliance at the Kentucky Speedway, and The Raider’s Choice Awards. He has also shared the stage with Chicago legend Twista, Ying Yang Twins, OG Maco, and Caskey on separate occasions in between headlining events. “Tea time” with Nate Rose, backflips on stage, crowd surfing, and live freestyles are among the antics you might anticipate at a Nate Rose show.

“My creative process is a selfish one,” says Nate. “I write from experiences, and having full creative control over how I want a particular song to sound, what I want to say, and the effect I want it to have provides an avenue for artistic transparency and honesty. However, when I’m on stage is where it is no longer about me. My sole purpose in that moment is to provide the most entertaining show that I can for the people that paid their hard earned dollars to see me. It is a humbling experience, knowing that you are reciprocating that energy back to the people that make my career as an artist possible. It really is a beautiful thing.”

Rose grew up in Cleveland, TN, a small city with a significant lack of a music scene. With limited resources available, the hip-hop emcee was forced to develop a plethora of skills in order to progress his career. His passion led him to studying music business at Middle Tennessee State University, receiving a formal education in a thriving artistic community while simultaneously developing his craft.
His music is ebullient and honest, swathed in genre-bending rhythms that stem from his diverse palette of musical influences ranging from Drake to System Of A Down. His records radiate energy and intellect, equally fitting for a club setting as well as a fireside chat. With this concoction, you can feel productive about turning up, knowing that you’re learning something while doing it.
