Biography
Elephant Kind is a pop band hailing from Jakarta, Indonesia, comprised of talented musicians Bam Mastro (vocals, guitar), Bayu Adisapoetra (drums, vocals), and Kevin Septanto (bass, vocals). The band's journey began when Bam Mastro returned to Jakarta after studying at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. Initially focusing on his solo project, Bam eventually formed Elephant Kind with Bayu Adisapoetra, Dewa Pratama, and John Paul Patton.
The band quickly gained popularity in the local music scene with their debut EP, Scenarios: A Short Film by Elephant Kind, which showcased their unique sound and energetic live performances. As they continued to evolve, Elephant Kind released their second EP, Promenades: A Short Film by Elephant Kind, and eventually their full-length debut album, City J, in 2016.
Throughout their career, Elephant Kind has collaborated with other artists like Rock N Roll Mafia and continued to push boundaries with their music. Despite lineup changes and individual projects, the band has stayed true to their innovative sound and captivating performances.
In 2018, the band announced changes to their lineup, with Dewa Pratama leaving and Kevin Septanto becoming a full member. They released singles like "Sour," "Pleaser," and "I Believe in You" from their upcoming second full-length album, The Greatest Ever. Elephant Kind remains a dynamic force in the Indonesian music scene, captivating audiences with their infectious energy and creativity.
