Halsey, born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane in New Jersey, is a talented musician who has made a name for herself with her honest and raw songwriting. Diagnosed with bipolar disorder at a young age, she has used her struggles with mental health as inspiration for her music, creating songs that touch on themes of sexuality, sadness, and emotional battles.

Starting out as a teenager posting covers on YouTube and gaining a following on MySpace, Halsey's career took off when she released her first single "Ghost" on Soundcloud in 2014. She signed with Astralwerks and released her EP Room 93, which gained her even more attention and a growing fanbase.

Her debut album, Badlands, was released in 2015 and was described as an "angry female record," reflecting her mental state at the time. Halsey's collaboration with The Chainsmokers on the hit song "Closer" brought her even more mainstream success, earning her a Grammy nomination.

Following the success of her sophomore album hopeless fountain kingdom in 2017, Halsey continued to release music and collaborate with other artists, including a feature on BTS's record-breaking song "Boy With Luv."
