Tahliah Barnett, known professionally as FKA twigs, was born on January 16, 1988. She is a multi-talented British artist who is known for her skills as a dancer, director, composer, singer, and producer.

Growing up, twigs had a passion for ballet and singing, which eventually led her to pursue a career in music. She started out by recording tracks in a Jamaican Club and her music is characterized by its electronic sound and haunting melodies, drawing comparisons to artists such as Björk, Portishead, The xx, Tricky, and Massive Attack.

Before making a name for herself in the music industry, twigs was a highly sought-after pop-video dancer in London. She appeared in music videos for artists like Taio Cruz, Jessie J, Ed Sheeran, Kylie Minogue, and others.

In 2012, twigs self-released her first extended play, EP1, under the stage name "twigs." She later released EP2 in 2013 under her current stage name, FKA twigs, after being forced to change it due to similarities with another band. She collaborated with producers like Arca, Dev Hynes, Sampha, and Paul Epworth for her debut album, LP1, which was released in 2014.

In 2015, twigs released her third extended play, M3LL155X, which was followed by her sophomore album, MAGDALENE, in 2019. Over the years, she continued to showcase her unique blend of music and visuals, solidifying her reputation as a visionary artist in the industry. With her innovative sound and artistic vision, FKA twigs continues to push boundaries and inspire audiences worldwide.
