Senser is an alternative rap-metal band hailing from London, England, known for their groundbreaking and agitating musical style. Formed in 1989, the band quickly gained attention for their unique sound and powerful live performances.

In 1993, Senser independently scored two hits in the UK before signing a record deal and releasing their debut album Stacked Up the following year. The album peaked at #4 in the UK charts and spawned a third hit for the band. Senser went on to tour with the likes of Skunk Anansie and Moby, solidifying their reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the music scene.

However, in 1995, the band faced creative differences which led to a split, with some members leaving to form Lodestar. The remaining members continued to create music but faced setbacks when sole vocalist, Haigh, became pregnant and unable to tour. Despite these challenges, the band eventually reunited in 1998 under the name De:Senser and released the album Asylum, which garnered three UK hits but did not reach the same level of success as their debut.

After a successful two-month tour of the UK and Europe, Senser went inactive for a period before reuniting in 2003 with five of the original seven members. They began releasing music and touring again, albeit at a more relaxed pace due to family commitments and other interests. Although they did not achieve the same chart success as their earlier years, Senser continued to captivate audiences with their energetic performances.

In 2014, Senser celebrated the 20th anniversary of Stacked Up by re-releasing an expanded edition of the album with bonus tracks. The re-release included songs that were written just before the band's split in 1995, showcasing the band's evolution and resilience throughout their career. With a rich history and a dedicated fan base, Senser remains a beloved and influential presence in the alternative music scene.
